My neighbor lent me his DRILL and I’ve installed new curtains by myself.
I’ve bought a dishwasher and I did all the installation by myself and it finally works after:
– a few drops of sweat,
– my arms aching,
– a few tears of stress when I put the water back on and it was leaking like hell from everywhere,
– and some advice from the sales man at the DIY shop,
– and from friends along the way.
But now it finally works and I feel like it’s so much freedom that I’ve gained and it feels amazing 😊
I feel like that decision has opened so many possibilities to me, to improve my house and comfort freely, all by myself.
All it takes is just to go to the DIY shop and there, you ask them to explain everything to you. From the smallest & silliest detail so you become able to picture the scene exactly before you do it.
And you will realize that you will understand, a lot more than you thought you were going to.
You just have to move past your fears and the very strong belief that most women grow up with: that “men know how to do that”, “it’s men’s job, I don’t need to know how to do that”, “I don’t need to learn, someone will always be there to do it for me”…
But no, reality is that there won’t always be someone to do this kind of things for you and it’s a wonderful skill to be able to gain some autonomy around this.
And if you offer this gift to yourself, you will realize it’s nice and empowering.
It will make you feel better with yourself because YOU CAN DO IT!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
